Introduction

Fortinet partners know the daily grind. Managing dozens (or hundreds) of client firewalls means dealing with operational tasks that have nothing to do with security expertise. Ownership transfers that require endless back and forth. Manual registration processes that eat into billable hours. FortiCare renewals that force you out of your workflow and into another portal.

These aren’t minor inconveniences. They’re the friction that slows down your business.

At CyberX, we’ve been listening. We’re currently developing a set of beta features built specifically to address the operational pain points that Fortinet partners deal with every day. These features are still in development, and we’re actively shaping them with input from the partner community. Here’s a look at what’s coming.

Diagnose Firewall Misbehaviour Faster

When a firewall starts acting up after a software update or a recent configuration change, the first question is always the same: what caused it? Was it the update, or did someone push a change that broke something?

Tracking that down manually is tedious and time-consuming, especially across multiple client environments. We’re developing a feature within CyberX that lets partners analyze recent firewall changes to quickly determine whether misbehaviour was triggered by a software update or by a recent configuration change. The goal is simple: faster root cause identification, less guesswork, and less downtime for your clients.

Streamlined Firewall Ownership Transfers

Ask any Fortinet partner about changing the registered owner on a firewall, and you’ll likely hear a sigh. It’s one of those tasks that sounds simple but turns into a frustrating, multi-step process involving support tickets and waiting.

We’re building functionality within CyberX that will allow Fortinet partners to change the registered owner of a firewall directly through the platform. This is a big one for partners who handle client transitions, acquisitions, or hardware reassignments on a regular basis.

Automated New Firewall Registration

Registering new firewalls is another task that doesn’t scale well when done manually. Every new device means logging into portals, entering serial numbers, filling out forms, and verifying details. Multiply that across a growing client base and it becomes a serious time drain.

CyberX is working on automating the new firewall registration process so that partners can onboard devices faster, with fewer manual steps and less room for error. This is especially valuable for MSPs managing large deployments or onboarding new clients.

FortiCare Package Upgrades

Upgrading a FortiCare package today means leaving your management workflow, navigating Fortinet’s licensing systems, and then coming back to continue your work. It’s a context switch that interrupts your flow and adds unnecessary friction.

We’re developing the ability to upgrade FortiCare packages directly within the CyberX platform, keeping partners inside a single workflow without bouncing between systems.

Hardware Trade-In During New Procurement

When it’s time to refresh hardware, partners and clients often want to trade in old firewalls while procuring new ones. But these two processes usually live in completely separate workflows, creating extra administrative overhead.

CyberX is building a workflow that allows clients or partners to initiate an old firewall trade-in as part of the new firewall procurement process. One workflow, not two.

The CyberX MSP Portal: Built Exclusively for Fortinet Partners

All of these beta features are being developed within the CyberX MSP Portal. And here’s what makes it different: this portal has been built exclusively for Fortinet partners. No other vendors. No generic multi-vendor approach.

This means everything in the portal is designed around the way Fortinet partners actually work:

  • Manage all of your clients and their firewalls from a single pane of glass
  • Purpose-built workflows that align with Fortinet’s ecosystem
  • Operational tools designed to save time and reduce manual overhead
  • A platform that grows with your partner business, not against it

What Comes Next

These features are currently in beta development, and we’re actively refining them based on feedback from Fortinet partners in the field. Our goal is to build the tools that partners actually need, not what we think they need.

If any of these upcoming capabilities resonate with the challenges you face daily, we’d love to hear from you. Your feedback directly shapes what we build and how we build it.
